I've enjoyed these last two days of not working by working haha. Yeah I have taken advantage of the time without a job to get some more painting and some other things done around the house. We did have a little set back working on the house this weekend when we found a small amount of unexpected termite damage we had to repair.

Speaking of the job scene I did get a new assignment starting tomorrow. The ironic part is it is with the company that took over for the other company I worked for at the hospital on the army base. So it looks like I'm back in the demolition biz again.

Sooo much fun, anyone want to help?
That's it for now. Later.

Ok y'all I'm back. But only after playing cable guy. Acquiring about fifty foot of cable, I shot through the diningroom, around a corner down some stairs through two doors to the spot in the basement where I moved everything to I was ready to go back on-line again. The tensions have eased a little, not completely resolved, kinda like a cease fire so to speak. I did feel bad for my sister though, she's the one who called me telling me what my brother had been saying and I sorta lost it and she was the one unlucky enough to have to listen to me. I think things may be settling down. I sure as hell hope so, it's not my nature to be like that and I hate when things escalate to that point.

Aside from all that I spent most of this weekend with a paint brush in my hand painting the hand railing on the front porch. It's getting late and although I don't have to get up to go to work in the morning all this added excitement has worn me out.
That's it for now. Later.

Just a quick post to let ya know I'll be offline for a while again, not really sure for how long. But it's probably a good thing because things are going to hell around here right now. The walls are falling in on me, no that's not right, they are being kicked in on me. All I know is I'm tired of being pushed around and stepped on. And this easy going person is inches away from going off like a keg of TNT. All I can say is if this family member wants a fucking war he'll get a fucking war. That's all I really have to say right now.
Later....If I'm able.

The tools of the trade for the job I've been on the last two and a half weeks. And for one more day. Yep, was informed today that this assignment will end tomorrow. So after tomorrow I'll await the next assignment to head my way from manpower.

Was going to post sooner but I finally got around to downloading and installing the new service pack 2 for windows XP. I didn't realize it would take a little over an hour to do this.

It's going on eleven thirty and I best get my ass to bed.
That's it for now. Later.

Last night just as I was getting ready to post all hell seemed to break loose around the state. The monster was once again rearing his ugly rotating heads as tornados began dropping from the sky. The good thing, if there is such a thing in this situation, is that the tornados were not in the area I live. But there were a few tense moments when there was a tornado reported to be on the ground headed for Topeka which is where my sister lives. Luckily it dissipated before it got into the city. So the weather occupied most of my time last night.

As I was sitting here waiting for the shit to hit the fan the sky suddenly turned an erie color, pictured below, which made me wonder if we weren't about to be hit. But the clouds just passed on over us without even a drop of rain. Hopefully it will be a much calmer night tonight.

Ok so I've snuck back upstairs where the cable hookup is and here I am back on line. Silly people, thinking my being on the computer up here will dirty up what we have already cleaned.

The weekend is winding down and it looks like I will survive with my sanity. My brother sometimes knows just how to push my buttons. Fortunately I have learned not to let it get to me that much anymore.

In the comments of my last post Error expressed some wonderment over the exact size of the sunflower pic's I posted. And no they are not as tall as the building behind them as it appears, but they are tall. To give ya some perspective below is another pic of those same sunflowers with me standing next to them.

It's getting late and I still need to fix something to eat so...
That's it for now. Later.

I got some god news yesterday, it looks like this current temp job I have been on is going to go on beyond the two weeks it started out to be. I have also found out part of my position with these people. That is I am the a-specially worker. No, that doesn't mean I'm a speical or even specialty worker. What it means is I am the guy who gets to do the things the others don't a-specially want to do. Well hey, someone has to do these jobs and as long as there is a pay check waiting at the end of the week I'll suck it up and get whatever it is done.

It time for me to finish moving out of my room and into the basement to finish getting this room cleaned. And that mean also moving my computer so I'll be offline for a while. Hopefully not for long but I'm not sure yet. So till I get back online...
That's it for now. Later.

They don't call us the sunflower state for nothing.

The other day I was listening to the radio while driving home from work. When this song came on that had what I consider one of the most amazing lines I've heard in a long time. It went like this, "Someday I hope you get the chance to live like you were dying." Think about it, I am. Wouldn't life be much more enjoyable if we were just able to learn to do this.
That's it for now. Later.

P.S. I need to get a chance to get out and take some more pic's. This place just seems bare without any.

Spent the whole weekend working on the house....again. It is getting closer now, maybe another week or so and we'll be done. I was sitting around thinking last night, after we finished working. With the house getting close to being ready I realize I'm approaching a crossroad, a big one in fact. And no I don't have a definite plan yet, although I will when the time comes. So yeah, I'm not sure which road I am going to take, I just know I'm going to take one. Whether it's the right one or not only time will tell.

I have decided though the future for me is not here in this sleepy little town, in fact not in Kansas at all. So it looks like a move is in order. I know that packing up, moving and starting over is not going to be easy. And at my age, it might even be a little scary. But one thing's for sure....easy or hard, scary or not you gotta do what you gotta do. There comes a time when you've got to go all in and let it ride and hope the cards fall your way.

Ok, enough of the cliches time for me to get things ready for work tomorrow and do some catching up on my blog reading.
That's it for now. Later.

Let's see, the days are getting shorter, school starts back up in a week or two, and football has begun. All I want to know is where in the hell did this summer go?!?!

Not only has it been a quick summer but a strange one as well. It's august, and august in Kansas is normally so hot and humid it's like living in a sauna. And yet I went to work wearing a coat this morning. I welcome the relief from the usual stifleing heat but this is going a bit far. I can't wait to see what else this strange season surprises us with.
That's it for now. Later.

Started a new temp gig today, this one is supposed to last through next week. I'll be cutting grass over at the local job corps center. As luck would have I ended up getting a late start heading for the new job and ended up being five minutes or so late. Turns out the supervisor has this thing about being on time so I had to sit and listen to the don't be late lecture. I felt like saying dude anybody who really knows me knows I hate being late. But I didn't, I figured actions speak louder then words.

There from the BEGINNING.

There's a PARTY going on.

Hey ya'll, I'm still here. I haven't run away, at least not yet, although the thought has crossed my mind a time or two. Actually I've been busy busy busy. Go HERE to see a few pic's of what has kept me busy.

Ok, times up, gotta run. I'm headed down to manpower to inform them I've finished my current assignment and I'm ready for a new one. Hopefully they've got one.
That's it for now. Later.

I was watching tv the other morning when they interupted programing to air an announcement by the guy who calls himself our president, mr bush. He was announceing that he intended to implement the recommendations given by the 9/11 commission. Seeing as this is an election year this was not a surprise, even though he was againt forming the commission from the get go. After his comments he opened the floor up and took about six or so questions from reporters. Now the thing that amazed me was he never once directly answered any of the questions asked of him. Oh sure his lips moved and words came out, but none of those words amounted to what would be a straight answer. I suppose it must be a prerequisite for becoming a politician, that is to be able to easily side-step or as I like to call it tap dance around the answers to questions being asked. Now I'm not trying to run good ol GW down, oh ok maybe I am just a little. What I am not going to do is say he is the only politician who does this. Hell, through all my years I've seen my fair share of political news conferences, and I would dare say that most all of them do this in one form or another. However if I was forced to rank them, I'd say that GW ranks as one of the best if not the best at doing this little dance. And I bet they (the politicians) wonder why it's hard for we the common folk to trust them and take them at thier word.

Sorry for this little politically themed post. But I sat here for a long time trying to come up with something other then the old hey I looked for work, I got work, I even worked and it's so hot out, no wait it's cold now type of post. And this is what I came up with. I may or may not post again till monday, since the weekend is the time we really jump into working on this house here.
That's it for now. Later.

Ok, so a little bit on the rough day I had yesterday. It started out with me landing a temp job helping to lay sod for the rest of the week. When I got to the job they hand me a broom and put me to sweeping sidealks. Just what that has to do with laying sod I'm not sure but who am I to argue I'm just the worker. Anyhow take three hours of pushing a broom combined with the heat of a 110F heat index day radiating from said sidewalk and the next thing I know I've got a headache and my stomach is doing flip flops. Yep, even though I had been drinking water the heat got me. This led me to do something I had never done before and that is I walked away from a job. In the past I've always been able to tough it out no matter what. Of course maybe a little wisdon is setting in, because in the past I would have tried to tough it out, refusing to accept tht something was wrong. Which probably would have led to me being carried off the job instead of me leaving on my own. I drove the sixteen miles it took to get back home with the car's AC going full blast, took a cool shower, drank a lot of water and took a long nap. That worked, when I woke up I was feeling better. I guess that's one job I wasn't meant to do, but I do have another temp job lined up for friday, this time it's inside moving tables and chairs.

Well it's back to washing wall in this house. That's it for now. Later.

A little bit of an illusion for you.

A staircase, yes, but are at the top getting ready to go down, or the bottom getting ready to go up.

Here's a pic of the house I keep refering to. It's for sale anyone interested?

Spent the morning taking care of some things around the house and making some phone calls. Then this afternoon I went out to Fort Riley(the army base next to where I live) to pick up some medicine for my mom. Since she gets it free out there, it is more then worth the hassle of the added security getting onto the base. After I had picked up the medicine I decided to take in a little of the local history the fort had to offer, and went to see the house where General George A Custer lived. For those of you who don't know of Gen Custer, he's the general who commanded the 7th Cavalry in the 1800's. He's also the one who must not have been very good at math, or at least figuring out odds. Since he led his men into battle against the indians at Little Big Horn when he was out numbered,if I remember right something like ten to one. Needless to say he didn't make it back from that battle, which explains why they call it Custer's Last Stand. It was very interesting going through the house as they have it set up just as it was back in the 1800's. Yes I did take pictures and I will let you know when I get them posted.

For those of you who clicked on my naked ladies link a couple of posts ago and saw the pic, below are a couple more pic's of the naked ladies in their full blooming glory. As to why they are called that I'm told it is because of the lack of leaves.
That's it for now. Later.

A busy weekend is finally winding down. It was all about getting things out of the house, and setting it out to try and sell. The big yard sale started at ten friday morning and ended at three saturday afternoon. Taking time friday evening to go over to my brothers house for some pizza followed by cake and icecream. The sale went well although we didn't come close to even selling half the stuff we had out to sell. After we gave up on the sale saturday afternoon we even set up a table of dishes and other glassware with a sign saying free help yourself. Shortly after we did that one couple showed up and told us they had lost most of thier belongings after an accident. They took most of everything on the table. Well, even though we hoped to sell it, it felt good helping others out.

And we are getting closer to emptying out the house so we can do some minor fix-ups and get ready to sell it, as you can see from the pic below.

Today was about doing some yard work. It doesn't seem to matter to the grass in the yard that we are going to sell the house the damned stuff keeps growing anyhow. And wouldn't you know it the blistering heat of summer has found us again. It got up to 98F/36C today. Truth be known I prefer doing the yard work in the heat as compared to shoveling the snow in the freezing cold.

And so now I'm off to figure out what to have for supper.
That's it for now. Later.
